Best rom for an S4?

I suggested the following to him but it will be his first time flashing a new rom.

Cyogenomod
Pacrom
Hyperdrive rom
MIUI ROM
ForceROM
Paranoid Android

One thing I found with non-stock roms is that they ate my battery alot more than the stock-rom did (They enable or forget to disable something in the background that keeps eating away at the battery).

So if you do install a custom rom, I'd recommend getting an app called Greenify. On my S3, the phone consumes about 1-10% per day if I don't do anything with it.

Back on the topic of roms: I use Slim Bean rom. I found it the most responsive ("fast") interface.

With the Galaxy Nexus stuck on JB and not getting KitKat, I loaded up CM11 (stable). With this, my battery life has, literally, doubled. I guess it all depends on which ROM you use. (Oh, and with no Greenify installed :) )

I've always had improved battery life on Cyanogenmod compared to stock rom on both the S2 and Note3.

Check if Resurrection Remix is available for the S4. I've been running custom roms for 3+ years now and have never had a rom that was so well cooked as this.
