Best Router for VPN

Hi

Which router would you guys suggest for VPN connections between 3 sites. They must have Dyn DNS updating, automatically reconnect on disconnection and be VPN server.

Linksys WRT54G ftw.
It runs linux so you can do what you want with it.
The stock firmware does have exactly what ur looking for AFAIK...
They retail for about R650 in SA afaik..

Hi,

I recently bought a Billion Bipac-7402G, definitely the best buy.

The 7402G supports DDNS, and has a list of DDNS service provider that you can choose from, including DynDNS.org (Dynamic, Custom, etc.), with the option for the user to specify the time interval when the router should perform an update.

The 7402G supports all three major VPN types (L2TP,PPTP and IPsec), and allows you to configure each PPTP/L2TP tunnel connection that you create to either act as a client or a server.
I have been running a IPsec VPN tunnel between two sites for a while now and for support reasons created PPTP and L2TP accounts for myself on both sides in order to be able to connect to the routers if something should go wrong, surprisingly I am using the support VPN connections more to open up ports on the firewall for user applications and to adjust the QoS function on the router, then managing the VPN.

I've also been looking around recently and the best I've come up with so far is the Planet 802.11g Wireless ADSL 2/2+ VPN Firewall Router. Only catch is it is a bit expensive. I was looking at the Linksys, and my supplier Laughed and told me that he knew i was on myadsl, and should do a search on the forums.. Put me off right away (even though there are many that say its been working good as well) The billion modems are my other option right now.

for sure the wrt54G, I have it and I use most of the features and I find it works like a charm.

Serious question with the wrt54G. most here say its great, though search through these forums alone.. almost all the posts state problems and things not working, from the website having errors to not linking right, to over heating?

My reason for asking is I just ordered My new modem yesterday and should arrive on monday (the one mentioned above) and would like to know if its worth it or if I should swop maybe to the wrt54G... it is a lot cheaper after all?
