Have any of you bought a Smartphone for less than R1000?
The various service providers (MTN, Vodacom, CellC) have their own branded ones.
Here are some others:

I'm interested for a friend who doesn't have much cash but would like one that works OK and has a full Android installation (not the stripped down Android that some phones use).
Any suggestions much appreciated!

Doogee make a good phone. Cash crusaders have the X5max for R1299

Or consider getting a good second hand phone?

So the Doogee X5 versus the Doogee Shoot 2?
Both at R1300...
Which is better (the Cash Crusaders website doesn't provide specs on the X5)?

Hisense U601S, R799 at Makro. Just be prepared for their poor service.
