im looking for any software that will play in HD (on your pc).

anyone know if windows media player 11 or VLC media player will play in HD?
 
Go for "Media Player Classic" which is included in most Codec packs

best codec pack? k-lite!

VLC play's the file. But your content your playing still needs to be HD.
