Best software for video capture from video camera

Please advise what software is best to use to capture video from a Sony DV video camera to pc and to edit and turn into DVD movies.

Pinnacle Studio, Corel VideoStudio, Ulead Video Studio or something else? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Isnt Sony Vegas supposed to be pretty good?

i agree on sony and you could try to use windows media player classic but you gonna need lots of processing power and ram.
Dont you have sony picture package on a disk that came with the camera.

I've used VirtualDub, Adobe Premiere Elements and Windows Movie Maker successfully to capture AVI footage from camcorder via firewire.

If you want the best software use Sony Vegas - I found it quite fiddly at times though.
If you want good easy software, Ulead Video Studio is very easy to use and has quite a number of features...
