I have a D-Link DSM-320 which is rather old tech: (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=3217), but it has composite out which I need for an old CRT TV

Now - what would be the best software to use on the PC side for video decoding? I've been using TVersity - but I see its become paid for software, and it also doesn't handle some video's sound (video plays without sound).

Also, it needs to handle HD content decoding, as most of my stuff is in HD.

Lastly, the server side is a HP Server (Either N36L or B40L) - I'm not sure if this will be a bottleneck decoding/streaming HD..

I have basically tried the whole lot of them and the one that came out top for me is Mezzmo. Also paid for though.
I found most of the free ones had some sort of issue, and being free you cannot complain much.
TVersity is my number 2 choice. Also a very good DLNA server. I used to get lip sync issues from time to time on the FHD rips though.

The HP Microserver would struggle with HD content, which is why people install dedicated graphics cards to perform video decoding. I'm not sure if you'll be able to get CCTV kind of software that can use the graphics card to do the decoding for you.

I'm actually going to try and setup an i7 950 machine today for camera motion detection since my colleague's single core machine didn't cut it.
