Best Solution?

So suprise suprise Telkom have let me down... I was due to get an ADSL line installed at my new house today(29 September). After being told that my new house was in an ADSL supported area and everything will be fine, I just needed to wait on the technician to setting it all up for me. Today I have found out there are no spare ADSL lines left in my area and they are unable to tell me when new ones will be come available.

As far as I can see I have 2 options Iburst or Neotel. Which one will give me the most stable connection?, the least Lag spikes? and the Lowest Latency? for World of Warcaft I am in a Iburst area that has a 40-60% signal strength according to their site and I will have Neotel coverage from 8 October. Ideally I would like an ingame Latency of below 1000ms, My old connection used to average out at about 800ms ingame.

So I would really appreciate your advice and please let me know if there is another option I have not thought of.

Don't go Neotel for gaming. They're connection is great for downloading but it has very high latencies.
 
i played with iburst and external antenna at under 400 ping constantly.

when iburst however starts acting up ... you will have 2-3 days of hell and phonecalls , and it will be fine again for about a month.
 
My iburst is also treating me alright. Consistent 350ms latency with no major spikes. Like Newb-lite said, if it starts acting out, then you have hell for a few days. I went through a bad patch where I couldn't run an instance with a mage with AOE and be on Teamspeak at the same time. But it works more often than not.

Can't say anything for Neotel though, but from what I've heard....do not use for gaming.
 
Thanks for the responses guys I really appreciate it, I am glad I asked here because I was about to order a Neotel line. I suppose my next question needs to be how does iBurst compare to Telkom's Wimax?(thanks Sparhawk)
