Anybody that knows of a great tablet deal, cash or contract, please drop a post.
I am on the look-out for a bargain and maybe someone else can benefet from this post as well.

Android or IOS, big or small....

Hifi corp had a Tedelex 7" Android tablet for R999 in December. Probably crap though.

Msi windpad enjoy 7" for R2000
Chaos computers, computer mania etc

I can confirm that the MSI Windpay Enjoy 7 is a decent Android tablet - just keep in mind that it's not rootable just yet and not all games from the Android market will work.

I'm personally waiting on the Asus Transformer Prime to be released here. Won't be cheap, but definitely the most powerful tablet available :)

You get what you pay for - want a decent tablet then expect to pay a reasonable price. Cheap tablets are fine, but very limiting and basic.

I have an Asus eeeTransformer (not a Prime :-() but it is fantastic - as good as a Galaxy at R2 000 less so shop around carefully.

You won't find many Apple/Asus products on contract. Think about what you want to do with the tablet before getting one, so many people getting caught up in the tablet hysteria and then wondering what to do with the thing 2 months down the line.

FNB Silver/Gold Cheque accounts. R239 pm for iPad 2 16GB with 3G. Best device/deal out there.

Not sure if deal is still available, but Vodacom has/had a deal for 10.1" samsung galaxy tab for R369 pm - includes 2gb 3g data per month.

Also available through the FNB deal for about R260ish pm - but no 3g data.

Please note there is some fine-print in the FNB deals, although it will not affect everyone - if you take one of the deals you have to accept that they will then only give you 3 free atm withdrawals per month. After that they bill you even if it's an FNB atm.

1 year down the line, my tablet still never leaves my side. Its one of my most important pieces of tech.

Recently got a Motorola Xoom from 8ta for R340pm including 10GB/month. It's for business owners though but if you know someone...;)

Make sure its 2nd edition ie: TF700T coming Q2 and not the TF201 that is out Q1

Owner of the original TF101+dock and never regretted buying my tablet, money well spent.

Hi. Try http://www.tabletworld.co.za/ I bought the R999 tablet and so far so good. I'm happy with it. It has android 2.2 It's not for heavy usage. If you want all the features of the more expensive tablets I'd recommend the one for R2299. The place is legit and the service is excellent. Just read the Q&A section before you buy. Gives all the info you might want to know.

The tablet has an intel atom processor(N450 1.66GHz),2GB memory and a 32GB solid state drive. It runs a full version of windows 7 Home Premium which sould be epic on the 11.6" display. You can view the table here.

I'll update this post in the morning with the amount still in stock.

Its a pity it doesn't address my biggest issue with Windows tablets. Uptime and instant on.

With Apple and Android tablets you dont need to suspend or Hibernate a tablet and when you want to use it, its just ready to serve 6 hours+ of entertainment without the need to go visit Eskom.

Cant wait to see how Windows 8 and its ARM tablets will perform next year on this matter alone.
