Hi

I usually use the internet for work, browsing, email etc. (some torrents now and again)... But I also want to resume playing WoW... Which of the uncapped services provides the best ping to EU WoW servers?

I'm almost certain Mweb will be your ISP of choice. :)

If you want to pay R2000 for an uncapped account...

Never read the entire post, couldnt care.. i just read "best for wow", which is webafrica, as you will get latency with mweb uncapped.

Where is WoW servers hosted?

I get 250ms to UK and 540ms to South Korea with my Mweb uncapped. I think it actually better than Is capped accounts...

How many GB of WoW traffic could you possibly generate? 10GB/month?

If its less than 20GB/month, then it would be cheaper to get prepaid unshaped data bundles - like those R19/GB unshaped from Axxess. I'm just not sure if that specific account would give you decent latencies on WoW, but I assume it would.

Currently unshaped & uncapped ADSL is too expensive, unless you're running a business.

You don't like reading much do you? It would have been a total 4 posts. Man. ???

Whichever one gives you unshaped as well without taking a chunk of your soul with it.

Problem with MWEB is that they pile on their excuses saying "You are aware you are on a shaped account". Meaning that they shape data on certain ports, giving priority to the web browsing and e-mail. They are ok for the most part, but don't expect them to be accountable for the service they render.

Thought it might be due to shaping, but even at 11:30PM last night, my latency never went below 800ms, and was most of the time between 1500 and 2500ms.

Even though it is not uncapped I would suggest that you get the Webafrica 25Gb package. 200-300 lat the last week and it has enough data to do the rest of the things normal people do on the net.

I have a 4Mb uncapped account from Mweb and my latency is usually around 500ms, although I have seen it go to the 300ms's at times :)

I have been looking around for a better account, but have had no luck yet. I tried out the Axxess lite unshapped 1GB for R19 last week, but the latency was exactly the same, if not worse, than Mweb shaped

Im on mweb uncapped 4 meg and i get 200-300 MS. when my dad downloads it goes up to 400 witch is still very good.

I don't play WoW, but I play LoL in which ping is arguably more important:

Mweb uncapped to US servers: 400-450ms.
Mweb uncapped to EU servers: 300-350ms.

On bad times like this seacom outage I fall back on my FNBconnect which overall lowers latency by about 50ms, but its obviously not uncapped.

I haven't played in a month or so but im on an Afrihost 384 kbps and I had no issues playing WOW, latency was between 600 and 700 (which is okish IMHO).

Unfortunately I connot comment on Afrihosts performance as of late and with their new T&C Im not sure I want to advise anyone to use them.

What I do is buy a cheap capped unshaped account and connect to it to play WoW. Just my machine too, so the other people in my house can still use the mweb account.

WoW servers are in France.

Servers are around Europe, the one I play on is in Germany.
