Best Unshaped ISP

I too am looking for a 1GB unshaped package, purely for gaming (I can update, patch etc from my normal shaped accounts, if need be).

So far I have had nothing but excellence from WebAfrica. Their prepaid option is the way to go if you only want a 1 gig account.

Well I splashed and picked up a 1GB "pay as you go" WebAfrica account, compared to the MWEB 3GB package it is MUCH better, and allot more responsive. I got my first taste of port shaping today when Telkom shut down all international ports this morning except for port 80 and a few others - caused me to loose connectivity. I am happy with the account, however a few times today have lost connectivity - not sure if this is due to all my work being international, and the apps I am using have a low tolerance to latency?

Eish, overkill. I use a 192 unshaped package, purely for gaming (World of Warcraft) and I get about the same latency as people on higher packages. If this is your sole requirement, you can save a lot of money by using a lower bandwidth connection.

I'm with Imaginet and have had nothing but good service from them. The only issues I've had in terms of connection reliability have been SAIX/Telkom issues, but there's not much you can do about that at the moment.

have a look at openweb. they have a free socks proxy which you can use to "unshape" you bandwidth.

I agree, have a look at Openweb or Nukecaps PayVPN.

It will save you a lot of money than buying unshaped accounts...

Or if you want seriously low latency look at Nukecaps Lowping.

Gaming runs perfectly fine Int using PayVPN. This i can confirm.
