came to post thisCanon M50 is what most vloggers are using now
This. Phone cameras are more than sufficient to start. If you have money to spend, spend on audio and lighting.I'd be more concerned with audio, assuming you already have a decent phone.
Good point - forgot about lighting.This. Phone cameras are more than sufficient to start. If you have money to spend, spend on audio and lighting.
As above - any recommendations?
My only issue with the above (apart from price) would be wide aperture/slow shutter shooting in daylight. I don’t see a way to use ND filters on such a camera? You can clip on ND filters onto most smartphones and potentially get more visually interesting effects for video, for a lot cheaper. There‘s a few YT creators with over 1mil subs that still shoot with their smartphones. The Sony RX100 series has always been the cream-of-the-crop of vlogging cameras... It isn't cheap though.

I don't know of a single blogger that shoots S-LOG, REC709 is perfect for most instances of vlogging. Must be a weird scene of vlogging where you need so much latitude.Sony ZV-1 is excellent. Only drawback is the lens not being wide enough. Otherwise it’s perfect, has built in ND, shoots S-log etc.
Depends though on what content you’re doing, as the GoPro is really great and simple to use.
For that price I'd rather get this for lessThe Sony RX100 series has always been the cream-of-the-crop of vlogging cameras... It isn't cheap though.

Depends what you're shooting and what content you are making. A lot of content crosses over into more cinematic needs, where S'Log shines. It's an easy to use workflow regardless.I don't know of a single blogger that shoots S-LOG, REC709 is perfect for most instances of vlogging. Don't get me wrong, shooting RAW is awesome but consumes much more data. I'm just curious what YouTube Vloggers do use it. I work in the film industry and the cameras we use output some serious data, like the Alexa Mini LF for example shooting in Open Gate it outputs 500 Megabytes per second in ARRIRAW. A 1TB drive gets filled up in 30 minutes.Depends what you're shooting and what content you are making. A lot of content crosses over into more cinematic needs, where S'Log shines. Surely they'll mostly use it on a tripod for vlogging?get something with image stabilization and that has a lens that is atleast 20mm (if fullframe) or 12mm (of aps-c). 24mm full frame will also work (16mm aps-c).
cheap options would be canon m50 with 11-22mm or sony zv-1.
ROFL. Purchase has already been madeget something with image stabilization and that has a lens that is atleast 20mm (if fullframe) or 12mm (of aps-c). 24mm full frame will also work (16mm aps-c).

I thought vlogging is that thing chicks do where they run around talking to the camera and making selfie videos?Surely they'll mostly use it on a tripod for vlogging?
