Hi there

What do you guys think is the best web development technology to use?
  • Cold Fusion
  • ASP.NET
  • VB.NET
  • PHP

I have been playing with ColdFusion to structure some dynamic websites. Its a very powerful system combined with Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. Also real nice to use with Macromedia Flash 8 Pro.

Pretty terrible for web users though.

My bet would be PHP, and whatever Web2 is being written with.

I would also vote php!

I go against asp, because it needs a windows platform to run in most cases.

Even though I do the majority of my work in ASP/ASP.net I'd have to go with PHP as well.

It all depends on the requirements. I've been using ASP.Net with c# for a few years now and its the best for RAD and is very developer friendly.

I vote for asp.net and C#.

I used PHP the other day again and man that is one ugly language....
C# can be run on Linux boxes but generally Windows is easier to configure (I am talking about C# and ASP.NET nothing else).

Nice thing about C# is that you can code web and windows apps in the same language... There is also a ton of information on the web.....
