Got a reply back in regards to my request saying "Unfortunately due to trees we dont have coverage at Raslouw Gardens at this stage. We have tested a few clients previously and each time our test fails."

How long ago was this test done because to be frank, I can't see many trees around now, All you see is houses being built every where... May be the trees have been chopped down?

@iru786 there is line of pine trees to the west of your location that has failed a few signal tests on your street, but as arranged the team will be out to do a site survey and then we'll be 100% sure. See you later Sir.

Hey iru786, we will look into a small repeater site in your area as we have a few disappointed potential clients in your location and we have to to change that. Ill keep in touch with you regarding any developments.

Where about are you? I'm at Woodpecker.

There's a tower right next to the estate, it's just past the clubhouse but I'm not sure It's level 7 or BitCo.

In Onyx. Can't you get ADSL either?
Was super bummed when they said I didn't have LOS.

Hi Rajiv,

BitCo Has equipment on the large tower next to the estate, the one you have identified above in your post

This tower covers most of the estate so if you are interested in a package from BitCo you can mail [email protected]

We have great coverage in Eco Park just this one was a fail due the roof we were trying to shoot over. Keep your eyes peeled we are setting up a site thats alot higher to cover those or one two isolated cases of no LOS.

Mike, We'll be sure to post updated coverage in the Bitco thread too ;)

HA! No way the various bodycorps are gonna stump up the cash for DSL lines. Which is a pity because it could potentially increase the selling/rental price.

Done and dusted Mike, sent my forms through to Khanyi today. Looking forward to using BitCo internet. I can see the tower from the 2nd level of my block so shouldn't be any LOS issues. :)

Alot of estates dont make provision cabling in the ground as they dont want Telkom there, or Telkom doesnt want to put cables in as they wont see enough return on it. We see this alot especially in new built estates. Lots of interesting FTTH happening out there so watch this space ;)
 
Yeah, it sucks. I've heard good things about you guys but unfortunately I saw BitCo first. Perhaps in the future.

Hi level 7,
Someone else is getting the connect in the same block as I am and he is pointing to the tower in Sunderland Ridge.
So can someone check to see if I can get the Los to that tower as well?

Hi iru786, we always check for all towers, the Sunderland Ridge tower would be our first choice as its the closest. Im checking the report from the team and they did check for that tower, there is line of pine trees up the road in that direction and there are gaps at points where we can get a connection.

Ill task Team7 to come out again and re-do the check if you like. Are you available on Monday anytime after Midday?

Yes I am available anytime on Monday.
When the guy came around the first time, no Los check was done. The guy just got out of the car and said sorry mate you can't get connection here. We have tested in this area before.
But speaking to one of the residents this morning, he said that he was told the same thing but he insisted on the technician doing Los test and found out that he can get the connection.
So I am hoping that it might be the case with me as well.
