I have the TaoTronics BH090 and love them for the noise-cancelling. Great for listening in cafes, I ordered from amazon - so not sure you'll get them in time.

On a serious note though, I'd rather look for wired headphones for that price range to be honest. I don't think you'll get proper wireless headphones at 1k
Also, does it need to be wireless Bluetooth or wireless as in 2.4Ghz? They are for vastly different use cases

Regarding wireless - I think just Bluetooth.
We got some other siblings on board so increased our budget... Looking at the Jabra elite 45h now. I honestly don't think he is looking for anything fancy so hopefully these will be what he's after

If you budget allows. Check the reviews on Amazon and/or YouTube. These have excellent sound quality. Best feature for me is the app and its equaliser.
