Hi guys,

I purchased my 42" with the intention of connecting my laptop to the T.V, and sitting 5 metres away from it while I'm surfing the net while the T.V acts as my screen...COOL!

Problem is, I now need to get a wireless keyboard that will have the range as well as have a mouse pad integrated so that I can have full functionality of the PC while sitting 5 metres away! The net looks so cool on the 42" but sitting so close to the T.V is a bit hard on my eyes!

Must be blueteeth compatable
Must have a longer batery life than 3 hours

Any suggestions
Cheers;)

ok, your best bet would be to go for a keyboard with an integrated "mouse", to minimise clutter.

The nicest items I have seen are these logitech items:

http://www.prophecy.co.za/logitech-967685-dinovo-edge-with-touchdisc-touch-sensitive-p-19922.html

I myself have a Logitch wireless devices and the battery life is fantastic. I have yet to change the batteries on my keyboard or mouse and I use them a lot (WoW almost every night for about 2 hours, plus normal use)

EDIT:
Or if you just gonna use your PC for playing media, you could always just get a remote:

Sorry for just linking from that one store, but our IC is fubar and its the only site I can get to.

Clutter?

If you don't care, forget that idea.

Go for a lightweight wireless keyboard and a Logitech MX Air mouse - it's awesome... seriously. No mouse pad required :)

I don't know m8. Imagine reclining in your sofa, and then messing around with a mouse? Even if you don't need a mouse pad you still have to run it accross a relatively smooth surface. Futhermore unless you are profficient in typing and balancing with one hand, its just gonna be akward. Keyboard with trackpad FTW.

Do me a favour... just Google it :) No surface necessary at all... trust me, it's AWESOME in a lounge/media environment

Look at the Logitech Dinovo Mini. Sexy piece of kit and may be what you're looking for.

That air mouse is a bit expensive! And damn that Dinivo is brilliante! Looks good, and has 10m range! Flippen hell, here I was looking at a budget of R400-500 and its tripple...I guess if you want the good stuff you'll have to fork out. I think I'll go for the Dinivo mini...just have to convince wifey that she'll benefit from it aswell...

Thanks ouens

Look online as items like that can be picked up quite a bit cheaper in the US than locally. That is if you don't mind that sort of thing.

yep...I was going to check abraod, eBay? But how long does it take to get here? I imported car stuff and took about 2-3 weeks tops...but seeing as a keyboard is a bit small...the dangers of it getting "lost" is all too comon! I think I'll have a looksie at those Dinivo's...mouse pad IS A MUST, as I have a Kirsty couch, and this thing is designed to have you lazing around, I'm forever laying on this thing, never sitting, so mousepad must be on keyboard...DINIVO!

I use the MX Air and its awesome, it even has media controls on the top and you can use gestures to increase the sound or skip a track.

Apparently the Dinovo trackpad is a bit klunky to use, so if someone has one please do tell.

I tried using a netbook to connect to my htpc using VNC, its a workaround but hey it works and the netbook has everything built in.

Bottom line... if you don't get the MX Air, you suck.. that's all

:)
