Has MWeb joined the ranks of South African companies covering their administrative confusion by bullying customers? Do I give in and pay them money they agreed I don't owe them, just to stay off the credit blacklist?
When I started my data contract I was double-billed the monthly subscription the first month, "because we bill the actual monthly fees in advance." When the contract ended I sought, and was given, specific verbal assurance no further payment was required.
But then MWeb's left hand disagreed with its right hand and they insisted "Data billing is not paid in advance" and I owe an extra month's subscription, R349, no matter what my official MWeb customer representative or my records had said.
Now I have a choice: be bullied into paying an extra month I don't owe, or get handed over to the credit blacklist
with all its dire consequences. So: R349 versus the principle of the thing?
What would you do?
