Pretty blatant scam going around steam. This is the second on my friend's list to have sent me this message.
You'd think people are smarter than this:

Either way if you have to download a plugin or anything of the sort to watch a video beware!
(Yes I opened the 1st link in a vm)

NB: I play so average no ways would there be a vid of me on some site..

Thank you for the warning. Scams mutate and multiply. Never know what next will turn up.

I had 3 people on my friends list send the same message in the last 2 weeks. The funny part is that the people click on the link knowing well they did not make or upload any video.

No security will ever stop stupidity

I got the same link, linked to a www.vidcloud.pw site. Also prompting me to update my Flash Player.

Ignored it :)

Does this mean that the other person's account has been compromised?

Yip Sadly.. Not sure what the extend of their exploit is though..

Should be especially careful when the flash plug-in download link is from something like drop box (if I recall)..

This has me thinking...

If Steam is supposed to have secure authentication, how are their accounts compromised? Or does the malicious code run on their infected PC and send these messages on their behalf?

My assumption is that it's likely a plug-in to the browser, so that it logs into your steam from an already authenticated PC..

From here, they can steal your items and send these kinds of messages, especially if you don't use the steam mobile authenticator for confirmations.
