Beware the solid line crosser cop!!

V8 engines sound very very sexy :p

Saw some guy the other day with a Chevvy SS Pickup doing wheel spins, the sound coming from under the hood gave me goose bumps :p

/sigh - Another day driving to work, and another day of taxi's causing crap. It's amazing how badly they drive if you actually sit and watch them for a bit.

C'est la vie. :)

what percentage smoke but they wanna curb smoking.

what perxcentage drink but they wanna curb drinking.

impound the taxis that are disobeying traffic rules.

Imagine if each one of the people in that taxi had his own sedan.
Imagine the traffic problems then.

Imagine a country with a working public transport system, government owned buses on regular routes, trains criss-crossing the country.

Imagine a country with an underground railway system inside the major cities.

Imagine a country with a taxi association that cared more about the rules of the road and the safety of their customers, than of the money they get in their pockets every month.

Just imagine... :p

Lovely, then poof! It was just a dream.

Yeah, sucky that :(

But in all seriousness, SA could take a few pointers from first world countries about how to go about public transport, cos they haven't got a clue here, and that is the God-honest truth of it :<

Nothing irritates me more than people who are too f***ing lazy to wait in a queue like everyone else.

So I applaud them for this :)

I have a legitimate question regarding this.

I am a new(ish) driver in the Cape Town area. I know my area well now but have still not ventured far out which I do occasionally as of recently.

I follow instructions of a GPS system in my car however twice now I have had actually no clue of where I have been and suddenly the GPS (Nokia N95) says I should take next off ramp in 2 km but due to traffic the que was far far back already.

I guess I should just get a better idea of how far (x)km is but then if you didn't know you had to take that off ramp and the GPS decides to tell you when the que is insanely long what is the best thing to do?

It would depend where you are attempting to get into the queue. Attempting to push in over solid-white lines (which is my foremost issue with people pushing in) is not only illegal, it's also bloody annoying to other people that have been waiting in line.

If there are no solid lines, I don't have (much of) a problem with people trying to get into the queue. However, if you are at the offramp and the lines are solid, you have two options (in my opinion); 1) you can continue driving, take the next off ramp and turn around, or 2) follow your GPS' new coordinates. The GPS will almost always replan the route for you.

Of course, this may seem unnecessary to some but I personally would rather be safer than sorry. It's only a few more KM out of your way, so it's not really the end of the world. :)
