Bf2 Please Help

I downloaded Bf2 a while ago to test it out to see how well it will work on my pc yadada and it worked perfectly! I was super happy with it so today i went to buy the original so that i can play online.:D

After much effort(virtual drive issues) the game manages to load and i logged on to int server and everything.

As soon as i click on play the program just closes and i go back to desktop!:eek: it just dies!:mad: I dont have this problem with the downloaded 1...

This is highly anoying me because now i cant play at all!

It a driver problem? I am also currently downloading patch maybe that will help.
I have a sapphire radeon 9600xt256 on a amd 2800+ with 1gb ram

It could be your serial key. If you log on (even for single player) to an online account and start a game, if that serial is already in use, it will shut the game down to desktop. Maybe make sure both versions are totally removed and reinstall. Also try single player with an offline account and check if it makes any difference.
 
hmmm.... this is wierd.
I was playing on SAIX now and it was working fine so i thought i had fixed it some how but STILL single player doesnt work. Not really that serious because there is bugger all to do on single player, i also tried to create a lan server and it also just exited which is cr@p because i wanna lan it
 
take it to a friend and test it on their PC and if that doesn't owrk take it back to where u got it and make them try it and if it does not work they will give u a new one.
 
what video drivers u using? i found the latest omega drivers to give issues with bf2
 
I maintain,when it comes to gamming originals work best!!!
All my online games are legit.
Not worth the hasstle of trying to crack stuff.
Atleast when I log on everynite I know Im gonna connect.............

Take it back tell them u want another set.

Check you don't have daemontools install or anything like that.

Did you do a full unistall of the old one? Maybe try uninstall and reinstall.

And definitely upgrade all your drivers.
 
i run with daemon tools, i use to because i play off my laptop and it sucks running around with a cd in the drive the wholet time!
 
I was using CloneCD VirtualDrive, but when I install BF2 in b!tched and wouldn't run with any CD virtualization software installed on the Machine.

Think I'm running ATi 5.10 driver.
 
try running it with your network unplugged too... i've notice bf2 still tries to access/check the interenet even when starting up single player... this causes an issue if your pc thinks it is connected to the internet but cannot actually connect
 
Whats the best drivers to get for ATI? I see now you can get different ones(eg DNA)
Its a radeon 9600xt 128bit 256mb, defenately directX 9 compat.
If problem persists i will do a format, that should clear all traces or the pirated one. But i dont think thats it it seems like a driver problem.

Some of you say that i must take it back, could there be anything wrong with the cd? it was sealed and everything. It installed perfectally
 
Uninstall the game completely,

run regedit.exe and find HKEY_LOCAL_SYSTEM\Sofware\ and delete anything to do with Dice and anything to do with battlefield which might be under EA GAMES then try re-install the game.
