This fixes all PB related stuff for me:


While in the game bring up the console by pressing the tilde key "`" and type the following :


pb_security 0
pb_sleep 500
pb_writecfg

It doesn't work for me now.

I was talking about a "MD5TOOL" which PB log.

I had a look at PBBans, there is nothing there.

Blackguy when you start up your BF2 make sure that you have both punkbusterA.exe and punkbusterB.exe running as a process in the background.

You have to have both instances running or you will get that message...

Both the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB were running while BF2 was loaded but I still got kicked off but not as quick. I will try to pb_security and pb_sleep settings now.

After deleting the pb folder under bf2 I then setup and updated punkbuster. Now, I received a warning message from SGS server telling me that PB server is running old version. And I got kicked after few minutes.

I got the following on my PBSetup after updating:

Client version: (v2.205 | A1392)
Server Version: (v1.738 | A1392 | C2.205)

Before updating I had:

Client version: (v2.181 | A1392)
Server Version: (v1.738 | A1392 | C2.181)

My three-line fix fixes the "running old version" problem.

But remember that every time you manually "UPDATE" or delete your PB folder you remove those settings.


EDIT : P.S. It might still say "running old verion" after you type the PB fixes but you wont be kicked.
