BF3 patches?

Im getting bf3 tomorrow, what patches do i need? Do i need to dl all or just latest?

Yes i know origin will dl it auto, but i want to download it via torrent so i dont have to wait for the 3gig patch to dl...

Afaik it downloads the latest, the DLC's are separate downloads. If you are in Durban you can copy them from me.

3 gig lol .... the patches all together are probably around 10 gigs , if not more . Easiest to get the game files from a friend

Lol .. I have freinds who stopped playing BF3 because they dont have uncapped and are on 384 lines .... the updates are massive... probably about the same size as the original game size....

Are you talking about torrents or him coming to you?

Either way should be fine. Getting a torrent of BF3 should not be a problem, since you still require a Origin/Battlelog account to play, and that's where your money goes.

a little birdy told me that its possible to copy the Entire game to another pc on a network

without having to worry about mutliplayer problems

We do it after each patch, one of us download the patch, then go around and then replace the entire folder of the other guys.

1) Let Origin start with the install, simply to create the folders and registry.
2) Close Origin.
3) Replace folder
4) Open Origin, it will either automatically start to check the files or tell it to "Repair". It will seem that it is downloading, but it goes a lot faster. Just watch Origin sometimes it actually starts to download the files again, so ensure that it is simply verifying.
5) Play game.

There are people who say that you have to edit the registry, but we have never done so and also haven't had any problems running the game.

tried this now, and i only had to do a 42mb update (compared to 5gb) and all seems fine

This is the reason I stopped playing BF3, another game I now play has on average a 1.5 gb expansion every year (for free), with small patches for new content and bug fixes every month. BF3 was the last game I will buy from EA, ever !

I had that too. My folder is 21gb. Had to repair it but it ran through the folder and only downloaded 100mb.

Time get get uncapped peeps. This is the 21st century

I'd rather they fix all the bugs and release big patches. Imagine all the moaning there would be of they didn't release patches, or only patches things once a year.

Has anyone noticed anything odd after the latest patch, updated mine yesterday morning. Now my pings keep on shooting up over 800!!!! Where on average it was always 20 - 45.
