OK so downloaded the file - extracted it. But how do I do the manual install again?

downloaded it Wed already and just ran the exe ... self extracts and installs should be that hard

You can extract to any folder anywhere on your machine, the files don't need to be in the BC2 install folder. Then all you do is run the updater executable in the folder your extracted to.

Sorry, thanks. Blonde moment...thought I had to copy the extracted files over the installed files.

I must say the new maps (especially Harvest) is awesome - big and huge open spaces. Pity the SGS servers hardly ever play these maps - why can they not dedicate a server for the new maps. I played like 1 Cold War map, then the next 20 games was on old maps

well i suppose its gonna be in a rotation but it shouldnt be to hard for admins to loop only the new maps which i kinda hope they will
do soon :} if they have access to any kind of tool that give them that options
