Damn I love my theory crafting, I can sit hours playing with figures and builds to squeeze out one dps exstra. Must be honest I am blown away with that screenshot. I am trying to figure out just how that is possible. If I recall correctly my pet peaks on 600 DPS with all my stuff blown, so something is fishy there. I am reading up now as we speak. Only thing I can think of is he/she ditched cobra reflexes, but then again look @ the attack speed. Damn you got me baffled... Now I am not gonna rest till I figure that one out. Will proc my pets abilities as well and give you a final accurate figure of what mine dishes out.

Whats his / her character name ? Wanna see if its someone I know, since I post a lot on the theory crafting forums as well.

Edit ** oh yea, the 4 piece tier 5 bonus, really is that good... its insane DPS boost. Wont be sorry once you get it.

Char name is : Galandia 70 Nelf hunter Lightbringer EU

According to her...
I think on that screen it has pretty much everything except my hourglass of the unraveller proc, so it has:

20str foodbuff, bom, bok, battle shout, trueshot aura, beast within, bloodlust brooch active, frenzy, heroism, grace of air totem, strength of earth totem, unleashed rage (or whatever that is called) and i used my drums of war

BTW regarding my dps as per my previous post, i dont blow tbw/rapid fire/trinkets on trash, dunno why... need 2 get into the habit of doing that... guess its because Boss fights are where the numbers matter, trash is trash :p

Yea I do pretty much all that already on my pet as well, except I also put a Scroll of strength V on my pet as well since it stacks with with the +20 strength pet food. I dont think mine peaks that high, will confirm though.

As for dps, that is your biggest mistake... Use you BW EVERY single time its cooled down, that 2 min cooldown is peanuts, you spend more than 2 min's in any case before a boss pull occurs. I use it at all cost as well as my racial blood fury when its available. You really should learn to NOT be selfish with it. Use it every single time you can, you will be amazed what it will do for your overal DPS figures.

No hell... my pet is not even coming close to that figures. It beats the hell out of me, and I just cant seem to find out how those stats were achieved.
Was that screenshot taken recently ? Or before pet attack speed was normalized / nerfed ? The attack speed + damage seems to be the key.

Thing is, haste does not scale, so I dont know how those attack speeds were achieved. I want to try a few more things like bloodlust + reshuffeling a few talent points, but honestly I am really baffled by this and would love to see exactly how that was achieved.

SS was taken on the 10th of Jan (edited)

His build hasnt changed since hes joined, so the armory would show the build he used to achieve that dps

Shamanistic Rage only affects the shaman itself, your thinking of Unleashed Rage (+10% melee ap for the grp)?

Hmmm no I am not even getting close to those figures and its really got me in a flatspin...

My pet is sitting raid buffed with pots and scrolls on around 260 dps...
Blowing all my trinkets and dps boosting abilities it peaks around 500dps... thats half of what he has there.
The shaman skill I am talking about is called Bloodlust (well on the horde side), it boosts all party members attack speed by 30%. Its the only way I could get my pets Attack speed lower, and even then its nowhere near his pets attack speed.

I would love to hear from him just how he got his damage stats that high. Even without cobra reflexes my damage is nowhere near those levels...

Even have other theorycrafters say this must have been taken from a private server or something. :)
This has me baffled... really ! Insane ... really amazing...

Ahh, alliance version of Bloodlust is Heroism

Rather scary since he didnt have the Rage of the Unraveler buff (Hourglass buff) either
grp setup looks like; Warrior, Shaman, MM hunter, BM hunter, perhaps a rogue/warlock

i sent him a PM, heres hes reply regarding how he did it

this screen was taken in our ssc raid on i think it was thursday, january the 10th on morogrim tidewalker.
Ok as Im not at home atm I will answer with only round about numbers cos i cant look them up here. Ok the base melee attackspeed of every pet is 2.0 which was introduced by a patch some time ago (dont remember when exactly) to make pets more equal. When u specc cobra reflexes this goes down to 1.54 and then add the bm talent serpent swiftness u are at about 1.2 or something as base attack speed of ur pet.
First of i have to point out this dps isnt for a long duration, it was maybe 10seconds or so when rly every effect thats possible was active. For the attackspeed that means that it was affected by heroism which is 30%, frenzy which is 30% . I dont know if that is just added up simply but lets assume it is, then this is a attack speed increase of 60% which is about the 0.76 that my pet has on this screen. u can only get the damage per hit that high with a perfect group setup, my pets base attack power is about 730 or something around that. as the pet is handled like a warrior it gets 2ap for 1str, which made it get 40ap from the food buff. the group setup was feral druid, enh shaman, mms hunter, dps warrior and me.
the enh shaman turns my pet into a monster, from totems it gets around 250 attackpower and about 2% crit plus windfury. the dps warriors battleshout gives more than 300ap as well. 125 ap from the trueshot aura and 5% crit from the druid finishes that off. I myself have 2000ish ap unbuffed with aoth which brings me to about 2400-2500ap raidbuffed depending on the setup and pots that my pet benefits from as well. in this very moment everything was popped, meaning beast within and bloodlust brooch giving me another 278ap which boosts my pet to 2250ap in total for the short time of maybe 10seconds or even less.
if u wanna see my buffbar of this moment i can post that too, it filled almost my full screen Grin

Thanks for the post... yes its pretty much what I was expecting, looking at the figures + stats. Basically he threw everything into Pet strength + AP even if it meant nerfing his own damage output. (eg. no agility totem) The part that had me puzzled is the low attack speed + insane high damage stats. I still cant get my pets Attack speed that low, even with cobra reflexes. Also if you take cobra reflexes, your damage of pet goes down again... but in his case they are insanely high.

cheers !

As ive said, only the 'speshuul' hunters get into that grp, im usually stuck with locks and mages, no sp, no buffs other than Imp stamina buff :(

In my guild, the hunters usually get a shammy + feral druid. If none of those 2 classes are available then we get a shadow priest.
But most of the time we have a pretty nice group with a druid + shammy.
The feral druid buff + tier 5, 4 set bonus adds up to insane crit ratio.

How is his overall damage vs yours in a typical raid night ?

If hes in the 'shammy' grp hes a good 100dps higher, but its not rly that much... i tend to slack in dps after a while, so mine drops to 700, his stays round 1k-1,1k

Yesterday in BM I pushed 362 DPS at one stage on my Rogue, never had time to check the sustained DPS. And all that with a crap off hand :p

The highest I have managed to peak on a boss fight was in SSC, if memory serves me right, I had a 1700 DPS on lurker below. Ideal group setup ofc adds a lot to the success in achieving that.

Here is another funny screenshot when I was Survival spec at one time in low level Tier 4 gear. Pretty funny playing dps class with that figure agility + crit + AP. Tanks hated me, threat meter says it all... even the OP locks couldn't catch me on threat hehe.

Yea... it felt like FD was not cooling down fast enough.
Not funny getting 7/8 crit shots in a row of 3500 damage each - minimum, and add rapid fire to the equation... **gulp** nasty stuff.
And if you see that dreaded FD resisted... you wanna start crying hehe.
Aggro control was just sick and stupidly hard to manage. :)

Scary to think what stats would be achievable now with high level BT / MH gear. Those stats were with Kara / tier 4 level gear.
Most likely around 65 % crit and 1200 agility should be within reach.
