Where will I be based?

What will I do?
Monitor real time & historic data to identify issues & trends
Data analysis on own initiative and on request from business users
Gather requirements and design appropriate business intelligence reports and tools to assist the business with effective monitoring and measurement, and oversee the successful implementation thereof
Assist various business units with decision support functions
• Business Analytics
o Monitor and analyse operational data and reports to identify issues, opportunities and suggestions
o Data analysis and effective presentation of results to stakeholders.
• Information Presentation
o Provide support to the user community in the use of BI tools and enterprise data
• Business requirements
o Check BI requirements considered in new development projects + impact assessment on changes to existing functionality
o Define the business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• End-user Application Specification
o Design new reporting solutions and the improvements of existing
o Create test plans and test criteria / test cases
o Data Staging and ETL Design: Source to target mapping, providing technical insights and knowledge during design and code reviews
o Keeps abreast of technology shifts and trends
• Project Management
o Effective planning and prioritising of work, overseeing technical development and providing progress feedback to business users
What do I need to know to get this job?
• Degree in Statistics / Computer Science / Commerce
• 1 - 2 years’ BI / Data Analytics experience (preferably in a consumer marketing context)
• Experience in:
o Using data to monitor and improve business processes
o Data analysis & presentation
o SQL query skills
o Advanced Excel skills
o BI & decision support concepts
o Report design
o Managing projects and tasks, as well as executing tasks within specified timelines
