Item wanted (be very descriptive): A bicycle for a teenager that they can use to go to school (2km away)
Is packaging essential?: No
Desired age and condition: Used
Location: Johannesburg + Pretoria
Willing to accept a shipped item: Yes but happy to collect in JHB/PTA.

Budget: R6000

So ubers don't accept short trips anymore. Figured he might as well cycle to school.

Is it just for transport and no other interest in cycling?
How tall?

Have you tested the route with the bicycle?
Does the school provide bicycle parking?

You're going to have a better time searching the below forum.
Nearly the first one on the link is a teenager bike:

Yea he's using the other bike right now. It just doesn't make sense on the road.
Is his other bike a downhill bike or something?
I used to cycle 4km to work and it was risky as hell on a road bike. A golden arrow bus mirror clipped me once... I eventually rode my mtb to work as at least it was easier to ride up the pavements etc.

It's a mountain bike.

He goes to a Curro that's in the same suburb. He only has to cross one main road directly into the school gate.

Unless it is something stupidly expensive or completely not appropriate why not just use the MTB?
