So what is the "best" scooter brand one should look at. New and Used options.
Don't know what you mean by the safety of the bikes, but the big boys aren't bad. I've never had one, got a CBR myself, but from what I hear it's not a bad entry level bike. If you're looking for something that'll last you a wee bit longer, look at the CBR 250 (R40k) also a very good beginner bike and quite forgiving.
+1 Rather go for a 2nd Hand Quality Honda/Yamaha etc. Bike than any of these Chinese makes, you get what you pay for.

True, but that is the problem most of these other makes are fly by nights which are here for a short period then off they go and you are stuck having to find parts to maintain the bike.
Where as the Top Makes Honda, Yamaha etc. have been around for ages and has a much wider after sales support and parts bin.
