Big names lined up to replace Thuli Madonsela: report

A number of high-profile people have been nominated to replace Thuli Madonsela as public protector, the Sunday Times has reported.

Gerrie Nel – advocate and prosecutor for the National Prosecuting Authority;
Mojanku Gumbi – advocate and former legal adviser to Thabo Mbeki;
Dali Mpofu SC – advocate, and EFF national chairman;

Dunno I would be happy with these people on the list, they are reasonably partisan ... or appear to be.

Some of the advocates and professors on the list however look to be good level headed options.

And of course, alot of the names on the list would be disastrous for Jake Guota ... which could provide a few years of entertainment for us all.

Pikoli apparently has declined and I really think Mpofu would be a terrible idea being chairperson of a political party.
