i have a netgear router and going out of it i have a pc and a xbox 360 i have filters and i have tryed different ones. the problem is that when the phone is in use onto the line the broadband will cut out and kick me off msn or an online game and cannot reconnet untill after the call.

if anybody can help me at all i will be a happy guy:)

Its a filter problem then, you need to make sure you have a microfilter attached before every handset in your house. Those filters fall over for a joke tho and I have yet to see one of the ones supplied in the netgear box actually work.

unplug all the phones, put a filter infront of one and plug it back in and test, if thats fine then look at getting filters for all of the other ones assuming there are others.

we have bt and sky microfilters in almost every socket that is in use
anybody else have any ideas

adambrown6, is the filter attached to the Negear router or to the phone hand set?

It happens to me on a few rare occasions when I'm playing an online game and get a phone call. It doesn't happen very often though so I haven't given much thought to it. I can understand your frustration though. The best thing to do would be to give Telkom a call (pray that they answer the phone in the first place) and ask them if you can fix it, or get someone to come over and sort things out.

You're going to need filters on everything other than the router - including all phones, fax, pots modems and even a burglar alarm if you have one.

Its hard enough for us to get them to make a house call - from his references to BT and Sky I suspect adambrown6 might have even more difficulties getting them to visit him in the UK :)
