Just had the fright of God inside me, like I was literally scared lifeless just now.

Completely screwed up a website upgrade wiping everything.

Cpanal saved my life with Afrihost Restore..... I never even made backups but they where laying there every hour on the hour and worked seamlessly.

Thank you so much.

Edit: my thread title is spelled wrong mods please fix it to Afrihost.

It's default for Cpanel to back it up for you even if you never made backups. So not really Afrihost to the rescue here ;)

That's true.

But I just felt so happy :)

Big thanks to Cpanal :)

CPanel*.

I hope your website has less spelling errors :p

No I think he meant Cpanal because it's usually a pain in the ass to work with and a resource hog. I like my ssh thanks :D

Hmmmm before I knew how to configure my own servers I had the oposite experience you had:
Broke my e-commerce site and AfriHoax "misplaced" the last 2 month in backups, got to love it when one of the features advertised with a product is non existent.

Anyway, learn to make your own backups and do atleast 1 a week and 1 before any changes.

True, but webhosts always tell you to make your own backups as they will not be held liable for missing data.

That's something we all know now, it's hidden deep down inside of their thousands of terms and conditions. When someone who doesn't know this (usually also a person incapable of doing their own backs ups of template based PHP websites with DBs behind it) signs up they are greeted with backup promises which never realize.

Point I am trying to make is that OP is lucky he actually got what he is paying for, Afrihost managed to loose entire servers not too long ago when they found out that labeling their mediocre VPS solution as cloud wasn't the brightest division ever made.

I used Cpanel thou and made my own back ups in case Cpanel/afrihost failed me.
