Hiiiii Guuuuuys

Lets have a chat about bike "Set Up", or suspension set up.

So after a little bit of fettling on my band - setting static sag and rear damping, I started messing about with my Presling.
Now, I have never ridden a bike that has been set up to my weight, and balanced according to how I ride.

And I am not, used to fiddling with, pre-load, damping, rebound....etc etc.

After having my bike professionally set up.....WHAT AN AMAZING DIFFERENCE. This 20 year old bike feels light and nimble now

Who did you take it to? Martin Paetzold?

It does make a monumental difference as long as your weight is inside the stock spring specifications. My Buell especially would have a massive head shake at 150km/h when it was out of the box and after adjustment it was perfect.

Buell made it very easy by providing a huge chart with 5kg split weight classes and then three different setups. My Triumph was not so easy to sort out.

The BMW does it dynamically so nothing to fiddle with there unless you want to swop the springs.

Almost killed myself on my mate's KTM which wasn't remotely setup correctly for me.

Yeah, did a super job.

I am well within my bikes spring specs. So I can have a nice, chusy, responsive ride.
Also not bad because the Presling will be may daily soon.

He also made a few suggestions regarding "centering my bikes weight" which will make it feel lighter than what it is and maybe allow to use the rim to corner
