Bike Transport

Ok serious question. I have a little 180cc road bike in Durban. Problem is I live in Jhb now. I can't ride the bike up. But I miss it so much. Does anyone know of any reliable and affordable way I can get this bike transported from Durban to Jhb?

I haven't done the train but I have read of lost of people doing with cars so it must be possible. On the driving I did a 500km trip on a 125 scooter with a backpack in Thailand. It was awesome

It can be done by train. check out the 'flamesonmytank' website. iirc they cover it there, but their pricing is just old. just checked- Its called: motorcycle onto a train.

there are other options, like private companies, but they cost more.

If you strap it down properly. what is it? bajaj pulsar 180? Should be around 140-150kg?

Have transported bikes on a Nissan 1400 before - probably a similar sized vehicle. If the bike does not fit you may have to remove the front wheel to get it on properly. This is no big deal.

That flames on my tank site is for Jhb to CT only unfortunately...

Have transported bikes on a Nissan 1400 before - probably a similar sized vehicle. If the bike does not fit you may have to remove the front wheel to get it on properly. This is no big deal.

If it does not fit you could always turn it diagonally, if it still does not fit just drop the tailgate. Always ensure you strap it down properly with decent tie-downs.

You could also phone local bike shops in dbn and ask them for contact numbers for people that move bikes to jhb, they should know.
