Bike warranties

Hi all

I'm buying a fireblade from a dealership in PTA and they're offering me a warranty of 1000km or 1 month, whichever comes first. Is this good? How does this compare to cars?

Even my Vuka had a 3000km/1yr warranty...

how old is the bike? 2nd hand i presume?

check out an aftermarket type warranty like motorite??

The bikes I've seen here in the Cape often have a 100 000km warranty / 1 year.

What you're getting is definitely a kuk deal

Yeah it's used. Has 26,000km - a 2006 fireblade.

2nd should atleast come with 3 month warranty, at the very least
try and get them to extend and tell them its for your peace of mind etc etc

Yeah. I also don't mind paying in a few extra bucks to get it extended.

then rather try and go aftermarket through motorite, sa warranties, mcarthy, hollard etc
but try and get them to extend the warranty to 3 months and 2500km, or you will look elswhere??
could be that they themselves dont have faith in the product hence they reluctant to give a longer/normal warrranty
but thats just speculation

No. They offer the same period for all bikes. As I said, I'll try extend it, but it's not really the end-all. Thanks.

I won't bother with an extended warrantee on that Bike.

The parts are cheap if something should go wrong, second hand parts are everywhere. Just make sure you put allot of KM's on it in the first month to sort out all the little things
