Hi guys. Telkom left a router for me a month ago By MISTAKE. They then called me and said they will be picking it up soon. Until now nobody picked it up as yet. I sent an invoice to them for storing the router for last month and this month as well asking them to offset my bill. I charged them R10 per day for storing their router. How do I get them to pay for it or at least pick it up?

Ahahahahaha - I don't think Telkom are going to entertain your "storage" costs.

A friend of mine took out a contract which came with a "free" laptop. The laptop became defective after a few months so he called them up to collect it. They promised to have it replaced.

He told them he's not going to pay until they fulfill their side of the agreement and they stopped running debit orders on his account.

Today almost 2 years later he still has the laptop.

I think sometimes things get lost in translation between the various departments.

You will get no luck with Telkom paying you for storage costs..

I did use that tactic succesfully with a much smaller company that had installed an incorrect product in my house and promised to replace it with the correct one. They then just went silent for about 3 months until I sent them a storage invoice and then all hell broke loose on their side.

My previous company had a similar issue with an IS supplied DSL router.

We stuck it in a cupboard and eventually threw it away.

OLX. Everything sells.

If they want it back say "someone" picked it up already. You wouldn't be lying.
