Hi

I’m looking for a wireless ADSL modem and noticed that there is a new Billion 7202G wireless ADSL modem available on some online shops. It sells here for R892 – is this right  ?! Sounds like a good deal, if anyone bought this modem or used it, please let me know what you think.

Thanks :D !

Hi

After some research into ADSL routers I can say that Billion is a good make to start with due to the support found on the web and with the agents. As far as features go this one has all the bells you would want (I want). Do though remember that the 802.11g wireless produces a 'standard speed' of about
54 Mbps and that when used indoors will give about a 30 meter 3 wall range which ever comes first. This is better than some of the older smc 802.11g's which could only reach 20 m with 1 wood wall. Check out the following sites
for setup information for a range of routers.

http://firewalling.com/routers.htm
http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

The 7202 is not there YET ! but the site is dynamic so keep checking.

The 7202G is great. I bought it a week ago.

It’s very easy to setup. It can do 802.11b and g. I'm particularly enjoying the intrusion detection. You won't believe how many attacks it blocks.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I was able see from the 7202G datasheet (which I downloaded from Billionsa’s website) that the 7202G supports QoS and has some nice firewall features, so ill be definitely going with the 7202G.

Thanks again.
