So I have a Billion 7300NX, it's not a bad router but while using it I experience more frequent line drops than with my old Dlink 2640u.
I have tried locating firmware on the SA site with no luck.
Then I emailed the old supplier, hoping they could assist...they referred me to the new supplier.
Who is now proving useless.
I simply asked where to find the firmware, or if they could supply it for me (this was on the 6th).
I mailed again on the 9th and then again on the 11th...finally I get a response saying that the 1 person that can help is onsite somewhere and can this wait until Monday.
It is now Wednesday.
Apologies for the rant, but can anyone on this forum perhaps point me in the right direction?
I was hoping that a firmware upgrade could help with my initial problem in some way

From what I have read the Broadcom chipsets used in the DLink routers tend to be more forgiving when it comes to bad lines.

If that is the case you should perhaps be investigating the quality of your line.

Re Billion support: Nology, the previous agents, were very good. However, there was always a delay when new firmware was released due (according to Nology) the need to customise the software for local requirements.

That said, according to the Billion.com website the last firmware release for the 7300 was November 2007. The website confirms that Billion firmware is customised by country.

Check your PM I send you a message, I might be able to assist seeing as I also have a few of these units and always keep backups of all the firmware releases.

Thanks for the info rrh, I'm just going to replace the Billion with a new Dlink...I was contemplating it the 2750U.
Tarsus is the new distributor for the Billion in SA and lack of response to my simple request has put me off Billion for now.
I haven't had any issues with Dlink before so I think its the way for me to go, especially since I know my line isn't the best. I am aware I have a rather high attenuation.
