I have just installed the above router and find that if I leave the router on overnight without the wireless LAN computer connected the next morning my wireless LAN will not connect until I power cycle the router again.
Any Ideas ? Maybe change some of the settings ?

I have the same router and have never experienced this. Does this also happen when you restart/switch off the LAN computer for a few minutes or only overnight?
I always switch off my Laptop in the morning and at night when I get home I just switch it back on and it is connected within 5 seconds.

I don't have the same router, but it sounds like perhaps you need a firmware upgrade.

Check if there is a bugfix list somewhere for that router.

Squarish white one.
So are you saying that firmware upgrade is not going to fix the problem ?

Mier,
I checked out some sites and some guys are not happy with this make and model.
Should I take it back to the supplier and take maybe a D Link ?

No, because it is already the latest firmware. Version 1.06

What problems do the other guys complain about? Mine has given me no problems at all. Only thing I can "complain" about is that mine looses 1 Bar signal strength when I sit outside at the swimming pool 15meters away from the router.

I suggest that you can change your channelID to channel 6 or 11, to change this settings go to Advanced > Configuration > LAN > Wireless. Save the configuration to flash. If this does not sort out the wireless issue, update your wireless card drivers.

I also have a Billion (800VGT). Bought it cash at a Telkom shop and it's been working flawlessly since about February. (Although, I should add that I have another WiFi Access Point at home and the two devices are set up with WDS. So the WiFi link is always active.)

There are many people on this forum that seem to be happy with their Billions.

Mainly connections that are being dropped but more so on the ADSL side.
I shall try to get the site again and post this .
I also get about 2 bars loss at a distance of 15 to 20 meters through 2 brick walls.

Thanks, I shall try this tonight:)

Also got problems

I have had a Billion 7300G RA for about 5 months after my last Billion (which never gave serious problems) blew.

My 7300 is horrible. It can sometimes take 10 minutes for my laptop to connect, if at all. Turning it off does nothing.

In addition, my iPhone will work well with the wireless network in most cases unless I use the App Store or Facebook apps, which seems to crash my wireless network. If I then switch to 3G, everything on my phone works perfectly.

It is time for Billion to bring out some new firmware, I think.

Any other suggestions?

Can you please clear your wireless ARP table on computer? open your command prompt and type in arp -d * this command will your ARP table then please test if you still cannot access your wireless network. What firmware version have you got on your Billion router?

Update!! For all of you that have the Billion 7300(G) RA Router/Modems - there is an update on the Billion international website. (106f) I updated my modem/router this weekend.

On BillionSA's website it says 1.06f is available, but the linked download is to 1.06d (7300RA).

The latest firmware released for the Billion 7300GRA is version 1.06f-A, you can contact Billion support in South Africa on 012 657 1317 and request the latest firmware.
