Billion 7300GX and iPhone 3G

I have a BIPAC 7300GX Wireless Modem/Router. It works perfectly with my computers at home and with my PS3, yet I have such problems with my iPhone 3G. It will connect sporadically to the Internet and then drop almost immediately, yet always reflects full wireless signal. I'm not too sure what I should do. Has anyone else had this problem, or perhaps know of a workaround?

CyborgBob, Log into your router go to :

>> Configuration >> Lan
>> Wireless, then change your Channel ID to Channel 1, 6 or 11.
Please test if you are still still experiencing this problem.

Your IPhone, what wireless stardard is it using, is it 802.11a , b, g, or n? You should bare in mind that the Billion 7300GX uses the b and g draft.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried channels 1,6 and 11, as well as upgrading to the latest firmware on the router.

From what I have been reading, it seems there are issues with 802.11g on the iPhone, but my router is set to 802.11 b/g. I would assume that with the router set to this, there should be a failover if it does not work on 802.11g?

If I were to set my router to only 802.11b, would I see a huge decrease in performance, or would it carry on as normal?

I have set my 7300GX using 802.11 b+g with the 8G iPhone. I could browse the internet wirelessly without any problems. I will advise you to update your iPhone drivers.
Please advice what firmware is loaded on your router. The latest firmware is 5.6f-A.

Hi Billion

I am running the newest firmware.

I tried to change the wireless to 802.11b yesterday, but I still have the same problem, so now I'm really stumped!
 
Just restored my iPhone and installed newest firmware.

Still have the same problem!

I think you must return the unit to the resellers so that they can send it to Billionsa for the wireless testing. Please specify what type of problem you experincing with your router so that the Billion techician can specifically test the router with the iphone.
