Billion 7401 - Unlock Firmware from Mweb

I have trawled the web for the firmware file used to unlock my Billion 7401 modem that I got from Mweb. Finally I gave up and gave Mweb a shout. Low and behold they sent me the firmware that will unlock this modem.

UPDATE: WORKS PERFECTLY - TESTED ON MY OWN MWEB LOCKED ROUTER AND NOW I HAVE UNLOCKED GLORY!!!

Did you get it to work. If so can you please explain how. Got an older 7401 from mweb. Just says can't load firmware

It should work fine. Forgive me for asking a "stupid" question, but did you extract the file from the archive - it needs to be done twice because it is an archive within an archive.


Here is the email I got from Mweb:

"
Please be informed that we will forward you the software to unlock. Note that they will need to carefully follow the instructions and do this from a place with a stable power source. The reason is if this installation is interrupted in any way it can brick the router and then the router will be worthless. Also MWEB does not assist with this.
