Billion 800VGT router issue

Hi everyone,

I seem to have an issue with my router, every few hours (average 5-6) it suddenly resets. I believe it could be the router itself, my friends router works perfectly. Any ideas what I can try/do to resolve this?

Lots of people complained about this as well, basically because their routers were striked by lightning. I suggest that you call the Sizwe helpdesk on 0860 110 041.

Mine is now 5 months old and not a single problem.

Sitting with a very similar problem here.

My router also restarts itself randomly. While I usually won't have any issues with this, my prob is that after a restart it refuses to sync. I have to physically unplug the cable and plug it back in again. I called sizwe, and they told me to swap my modem. after the swap I installed my new modem, and guess what? The exact same problems are still there.

Tried to explain the problem a few times to Telkom's ADSL support desk, but they simply can't understand what the issue is. The guy I spoke to tonight finally understood, and escalated my problem to a specialist department.

Has anyone had a problem like this? If so, how can I fix it (except for hammer maintainance and swap-outs)? Is there a setting I have to look at?

Any info would be MUCH appreciated
