Your line now gets cut off when moving to and from other providers. Been like that since 19 June.

Know how long its gonna take for the process to be completed?
AH is logging a fault to Telkom, because they trouble fully take control of the line

Got similar problem on my line with my Billion 8800.
Keeps dropping connection - in WAN status it shows "unconfigured"
I tried changing the settings as shown on the first page of the thread but then it wouldn't connect at all.
AH running my VDSL line.
I checked my xDSL status and lo and behold - it appears I'm still provisioned on ADSL2+
Could this be the cause of the problem?
have included screenshot of the xDSL.

Yes, the ADSL2+ is the issue that's causing the disconnections.

I suggest you PM Afriman to change the modulation to VDSL, PTM mode. Once its changed, surprisingly the router will automatically connect to PTM

Hi

Welcome to the VDSL club.

Once Telkom has finished switching you to VDSL modulation on their side.
Its quite simple with the setup, all you need to do is plug and play.

IF that didn't work then...

Quick Start -> Layer2 Interface: PTM -> Input your username and password from ISP and next step. It should start working now.

and IF that still doesn't work then....

Configuration -> WAN -> Edit the PTM interface -> set 802.1P Priority to 0 and set 802.1Q VLAN ID to 835 -> Apply.

That should work now.

lifesaver!

Followed exactly what you typed, and worked like a charm :)

Another thanks, had to follow both easy and the PTM interface parts (I got switch from adsl2plus to vdsl) and working like a dream.

Thanks so much. This really helped a lot. I have the D-Link DSL-G225 router and it was syncing, but not connecting to the Internet. All is working fine now! :-D
