Hey guys.

I am going to buy my modem/router this week and what I can tell from some r and d is that Billion seems to be highly recommended in SA.

I want to go for the 7300G. Is this any good? I will be using it at home. :D

The 7300G is a great wireless router to choose.

Just a word of warning. There is currently a Billion shortage in SA and suppliers are only expecting stock in the next two weeks.

What about the Linksys products? I just found out that the company I work for will get me one at cost. The model is the Linksys WAG200G?:D

Speaking from experience I would wait for the Billion, just really easy to set up and use. If you're really desperate I guess you could get the Linksys.

If you're looking at Netgear first do a bit of research. I got a Netgear Rangemax wireless router (Top of the range at the time) which gave me and many other people endless hassles (if you check the netgear support forums on the site). After all the issues, they then released a a hardware version 2, pretty much agreeing that the first one was K*ka.

It's official. I got myself the Billion 7300G!!! Now for Telkom to call and say my line is ready......

the Billion 7300g is great,I also just got myself one.
if you are self installing, be sure to verify your adsl line once they let you know that it is active.
www.telkom.co.za/verifyadsl only do that once your line is active and you have hooked up your modem. you may also have to use the following ISP details to verify your line.
"guest@telkomadsl" and password "guest" ,then go the verifyadsl site.

good luck!!

i learned this all the hard way. thanks to the guys that helped me over the weekend(Y) you know who you are!
