Oh, for Pete's sake. The interesting video is not him whacking off to himself, but those meant for distribution showing a visibly older bin Laden with a snazzy tinted beard.

Also, you can bet your bottom dollar that the real reason for releasing these videos has nothing to do with making him look vain and weak (as the silly journos on CNN, BBC, Sky, etc seem to think), though that's a beneficial side-effect. More along the lines of (a) it shows to other Al Qaeda cadres that they can't release videos of OBL claiming he's still alive because the US has the originals, including the outtakes, and (b) it gets the wind up other AQ cells and leaders, with the aim of provoking them to various CYA actions. Pretty clever move leaving out the audio.
