I recently tried updating my motherboards bios drivers because everytime i restarted the cmos settings erased and defaulted back to original.

After updating with the latest drivers it gave an error message when validiting so i chose abort, which was the only choice i had besides flashing again which caused the same problem. I tried with different versions as well. They all gave problems so I left it. Afterwards i checked the bios version and it was stil the old version so i thought everything was ok.

When i turned the PC on again the screen stays blank and the HDD light stays flashing. I can't use amx tools to try recover bios because nothing happens on screen.

I have an Asus M2N-Sli Deluxe. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, the bios' on those boards can be recovered by booting up with a bootable stiffy. Perhaps have a look at the Asus' site for details. Also, judging by your problem described, it looks to me like you have write protection on your bios (that's why it won't write the new one) or your cmos battery is dying (that's why it won't save settings when changed)

Will the stiffy work even if I can't get past the post. Before i tried writing the new bios i changed the boot picture and that worked.
