I got the foxconn h77mxv-d motherboard with the latest bios installed.

i recently installed a new OS but before i did i tried to change the bios settings (sata config to raid instead of the default which is IDE native)

here's the thing though, when i saved the changes (save and reset) the pc wont boot, it will start I hear the beeps then nothing just a cursor flashing and then total blackness, this happens whenever i try to save any settings on the bios which means i cant change anything :(

when i look through the manual i notice 2 things that i think could cause this (note i'm a noob so i could be way wrong)

the first is the cmos jumper config on the mobo (its currently locked) should i open it and then try to save the new settings ?

the second is the ME jumper config on the mobo, same question as above.

bottom line is i cant save any changes on the bios, if i try to save and reset it just doesnt boot (just shows a black screen)

okay another question is, is there a better mobo within this price range R800 to R1200 with similar features
maybe with 6 sata ports ? 4 standard and an additional 2 (the higher speed ones (blue))
2 of the long pci thingies and one small one (pci-express i think its called)
and def with an easier bios interface pref with NO jumpers to reset :D i hate jumpers
