BIOSTAR mobo choice - opinions?

Hey guys,

Busy building a new PC and have narrowed my mobo choice down to two options:

The TA790GX A3+ 5.x

And the TA790GXE 128M 5.x

Cash is an issue and I can get the TA790GXE 128M 5.x for R979 at Nivo but Landmark are selling the TA790GX A3+ 5.x for R1227.

Initially I budgeted about 1K for a mobo owing to the fact that I share gaming between console and PC and really wanted it for RTS and a few FPS titles. I'm probably going to get a 4870 or 2x 4850's but I'm weary about future proofing for AM3.

The added problem is that DDR3 1333 RAM is also more expensive that DDR2 1066.

The obvious choice is AM3 but if you were on a budget what would you do?

people are gonna flame me but IMO don't go for Bio star, i've had one of their SLi boards and it sucked.
rather go for gigabyte, or preferably Ay-sooos!

I've read a lot of reviews on the boards and all have been quite positive. I was going to go for Asus but in that price range they only offer 1 PCi express x16 ports and I want the option for crossfire at a later stage.

As far as Gigabyte motherboards go I'd love one but a decent AM2+ or AM3 goes for R1500 upwards, which is just too much for me.

Im in the same situation - the biostar are cheap while the asus are expensive for what you get . Any idea on the warranty on those biostars ?
