If you are not particularly interested in CrossFire, but want a high-performance motherboard at a reasonable price, the TP43 HP is the motherboard for you.
Based on reviews by us and other reputable IT magazines and Websites, the BIOSTAR TPower I45 was one of the best DDR2-based Intel motherboards ever.
Not only did it gain favour amongst enthusiasts - breaking several world records - but it was also one of the cheapest high-end motherboards based on the Intel LGA775 latform.
The TP43 HP is almost identical to the I45. The main difference between the two MOBOs is that the I45 was based on the Intel P45 chipset, while the TP43 HP is based on Intel’s P43 chipset.
This results in the board having a single PCI Express 2.0 16x slot and a secondary PCI-E 4x slot, as opposed to the I45’s two PCI-E 16x lots (which supported CrossFireX) in single card configuration on the P 45 and X8+X8 in. So in essence this is an upgraded P35 chipset.
For the majority of people who use a single graphics card, the TP43 HP is a less inexpensive option than the I45, making it an excellent purchase. It features all you would expect from a modern motherboard, including Gigabit Ethernet, Intel’s HD Audio Code c and FireWire.
Because of the heatpipe, it runs cooler than what the equivalent P35 chipset board would run. If you are not particularly interested in CrossFire, but want a high-performance motherboard at a reasonable price, the TP43 HP is the motherboard for you.
