Hi, I contacted Adri and she mentioned that if you were adopted the vault copy of the birth certificate has your biological parents blanked out. I am needing this to claim ancestry for the UK. Were you still able to use this copy?

Hi- that doesn’t sound right . My vault had my biological parents on it . You need your Biological parents details on it to prove relationship. I would suggest you get the vault document to confirm
 
Ok will do, do you know if you were adopted in a closed or open adoption?
 
It was a open adoption . Maybe that’s the difference . If you are able to prove otherwise like hospital records or dna tests I’ve heard you can also apply with that as supporting evidence
