I suggest another handbag or in this case a nice small compact clutch bag...FOR YOUR BALLS !! What kind of man comes onto a public forum to get ideas for a birthday gift for his wife? What next...names for your kids? C'mon...

By the way...you never ever buy your wife any appliance whatsoever for her birthday. Perfume, spa treatments etc. is the way to go.

cos maybe the other guys in this forum have bought for the wives and would help

Blender?

Blender... you will have a curby up your behind if you buy her a blender for her BDAY!!

Spa vouchers.

Ahhh thanks..was going to say that but didnt want to sound like a bitch. I got a...wait for it....THUNDERSTICK one year...took every ounce of my being to put on a happy face! Thankfully, he learnt from the mistake! :D

Grav80...Most Foshini's. Listen to Mila, step away from the blender. She can get it for xmas (with a spa voucher hahaha):p

You get very nice "retro" looking blenders in pastel colours ... something like a pale pink would look great in a grey or black kitchen.

Seriously, I got one for xmas last year and I was a very happy camper indeed. She will get 10 samples (that last forever) and then can take the voucher and exchange if for the full size bottle she wants...this kills 2 birds with one stone..you wont get the perfume wrong and she might find a new perfume that she will love! The designer boxes have most high-end brands that I wouldnt dream of buying without testing. I already checked to see if Foschini is still stocking the gift boxes and was very happy to see that they are....its very high on my wishlist. hth. :)
Ok, so I went for this...

How does the voucher look like. The only one we got inside was one that gives you money off. Is that it or should there be another voucher inside? We checked thoroughly and that's all there is.

i think it supose to be few samples and then a voucher for a full bottle

not sure what size but im sure the samples are all within same price range and same bottle size

Guys my wife's birthday is coming up so I'm looking for some ideas of what I can get her. One thing that I know she definitely wants is a blender, but I was never into giving her something which isn't really exclusively hers (lets face it, I'll use it as well).

I thought I'd get her the blender anyway in addition to something else.

Oh, and while I'm at it does anybody know where I can get a dark coloured blender? Our kitchen is dark grey / black

I had a look at those - not a bargain in my opinion. You pay like 570 for 20ml worth of samples - and then you can get a full sized bottle free? The voucher you get for the "free" perfume in there are cheaper than R570, as I presume it will be either 30 or 50 ml bottles - which is less than that. Also - the variety is not that great - the only good one I saw was from Paco Rabanne (Lady Million)

I didnt know that it would be cheaper to just buy the bottle...I actually didnt check the price of the pefume i chose at the time but I saw my perfume on takealot for R100 bucks cheaper than the box lolol. but last year my voucher got me a 50ml bottle so not sure really..but i think i would be happier if my hub got me the voucher box than spend 570 on a perfume I might not like kwim>?
Oh yar, I also got a voucher in the box (R100 off when you spend x amount on cosmetics, cant remember the exact amount but I havent used it and think it might be expired by now anyway)

I saw this years box is different to last years variety but the designer box was sold out when i was there this weekend so didnt get to see whats in it this year, I got my teen daughter the Celebrity box..she better like it!! :D

I guess i think they make an awesome gift for someone who is not sure what to get a female(and of cos, money not being an issue)
