BIS calendar sync

Hi

Can someone explain the BIS service and calendar synchronization. If on outlook I create a meeting I see it immediately on my BB but when i create one on my BB it doesn't sync to my outlook.

Any ideas? Is it because of a limitation on BIS and btw this is on my work e-mail.

If your using BIS then it should not be syncing at all, as you say its your work email then i assume you are actually using BES, something quite different, BIS is a network service where RIM's servers manage you emails and stuff. BES is a leased service where you use the networks like vodacom and mtn to create a tunnel to your office server. On this server they can set almost every aspect of your phone including your ability to make or receive calls, texts, mms, PIN, email calendar entries, notes, the works.

Also with BES any internet you use is not actually vodacoms/mtn's, you are using your companies internet so you are limited both by your handset speed and your company speed.

BIS checks for mail on your server every 20min, BES is a direct push, as soon as it hits your work server its pushed to the handset.
Check with your co-workers, if they have the same issue then its a server problem, if not then have your tech guys check both your handsets configuration and the specific settings on server side associated to your handset, its most likely just a configuration error.
