Hi ladies and gentlemen,

Is anyone experiencing problems with BIS & MTN? I have no BIS what so ever, my connection to my home wifi doesn't help with the likes of my messengers. My phone won't even fetch my emails. A friend of mine who is also on MTN is also having problems.

I stay in JHB South and he stays in JHB central.

Do you download alot? MTN is throttling BIS for heavy downloaders and some people claim that they are unable to view websites or retrieve emails

i'm in northern joburg and nothing's working on my BB - not BIS, google maps, BBM. i'm on MTN but i certainly do not download on my phone. i have ADSL a PC, laptop and tablet for downloading. websites do not even open these days. MTN on BB has been iffy for 3 weeks now although they're denying it. i wonder if i can get a refund of my R60 this month :-)

I have exactly the same problem for over 2 weeks now. How can mtn do that when that is the only reason we took out these blackberry phones was for the free service which cannot be used now? This is absolute sh*t. Why even have a 3g phone if its gna work like its slower than edge. Is this even allowed?

Many mtn BIS complaints, I suggest you guys call mtn and make a big fuss about it. Let them feel the pressure. Ask for the supervisor or someone higher up and escalate the problem.

Almost 2 months of problems my side. Seems there are page limits as well. Cant even load mybb during the day. Pathetic.

Yes I do download a lot but not using my BB, I have uncapped ADSL for that.

Hi, I have this problem today. Has yours been solved?

Eventually yes, I tried switching between 2G & 3G which didn't work. Eventually I did a battery pull and waited the mandatory 2 minutes for the BB to start back up and which point it was working again.
